Sunset at 45000 feet

April 2004:

“Man, Bangalore is such a wonderful city from up above, especially in the night!” a remark made by a US returned friend had me wondering and dreaming for days, of the sight. I was jealous and sad of my misfortune as flying remained a distant dream.

10 January 2005:

I took my first flight out of Bangalore to Mumbai at 20:45 and was blessed with the sight of Bangalore from ‘up above’! My imagination had more colours, I should say… but the city was indeed beautiful with the rather artistic arrangement of orange and white lamps. The picture of the city that I carried until then, which was limited to the busy streets and long traffic jams, got a tint of beauty that day.

11 August 2005:

This is the eighteenth time I am flying in the last seven months. All these while I used to be amazed by the varied formations the clouds took when I cruised above them or why I couldn’t see any bird out of my window just to nod to them that I’m up a challenge to them. But this day blessed me with a whole new dimension of beauty. I was at 45000feet and the sun was fast moving to ‘the dark side of the earth’! The clouds took so many colours blue to purple, orange to red and lot more… (Now I know where the Tamil movie directors got the idea of changing colours of saris for the heroines:-))! I was so happy I couldn’t control. I felt my wet cheeks and I was thanking God.

God, who took me from nowhere to up above to make me witness to his marvelous work of art! God, who persistently loved me even when I lead my selfish life. God, who embedded beauty in all that he did.

It was just a miracle, the miracle named LOVE. A year back I stood wondering if I could ever fly and this day I stand confused where to take my flight enchasing my frequent flyer miles! That’s the beauty of HIS wonderful design, ‘Life’ and I cant stop but thanking HIM for that.

Cheers
